> Kenneth William DeFontes of Kingsville has been named to the dean's list at the College of William & Mary for the spring 2005 semester.

> Shekesia Joyner, a graduate of Parkville High School, has been awarded a $1,000 Wal-Mart scholarship.

Joyner will attend Hampton University in the fall.

She plans on majoring in journalism. She was also named to the National Honor roll and to Who's Who Among High School Students.

> Elliot Ganson, a Perry Hall High School graduate, has been awarded a $1,000 Wal-Mart scholarship.

Ganson will attend Towson University in the fall where he plans to major in mechanical engineering.

He also received the sportsmanship award at Perry Hall High, where he ran on the track team all four years.
